Nigeria forward, Alex Iwobi has admitted that Arsenal  lost their Sunday’s clash with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium because the team failed to sustain the top momentum with which they started the match.

Arsenal took an early lead in the fifth minute through Theo Walcott after Alexis Sanchez’ threaded a pass through the Manchester City defence.
But second half strikes from Leroy Sane – an equaliser in the 47th minute, was followed by Raheem Sterling’s winner with 19 minutes left to play.

And Iwobi who starred for 65th minutes before being  replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as the Gunners suffered their third defeat of the season, claimed the Gunners were unlucky to have lost the encounter.

The Nigeria international who has scored a goal in 13 appearances in the EPL this term is however confident that Arsenal will bounce back to winning ways.
“I guess you could say we took our foot off the gas. Man City took advantage very well in the second half. We were up against a tough side today, we were just unfortunate to not keep the win,” Iwobi tells Arsenal FC  official website.
“We started off very well but we weren’t able to keep it up in the second half and we were very unfortunate.
“We just have to continue the way we were playing at the start of the season. We just have to get that back and kick on now and prepare well for the next game.
Arsenal who are now nine points adrift of leaders Chelsea will face West Brom, Crystal Palace and AFC Bournemouth in their next three fixtures.
