Tianjin TEDA new signing, Brown Ideye, has made an interesting revelation that his national team skipper, John Mikel Obi, recommended him to the Chinese Super League Club

Ideye who is set to make his Chinese Super League debut for Tianjin TEDA against Shandong Luneng on Saturday, joined the club for a reported fee of £10m deal from Olympiacos on deadline day after a move for Sporting Lisbon Netherland striker Bas Dost fell through.

The 28-year-old Super Eagles striker told sports.enorth.com.cn in an interview that he will strive hard to make the starting lineup  despite joining the team three days to the league kick-off.

Ideye has been handed the No. 39 shirt at the club and will battle Gabonese striker Malick Evouna who also joined from Egyptian side Al Ahly for a place in the starting lineup on Saturday.

“Mikel has told me about the whole team, and I will put my best into training and I will follow the coach’s instruction and get through the training team,”
“I watched the Super League and I believe that with my current physical condition, I can make my debut at any time, I will strive for a position in the starting lineup.

Ideye started out his football career in Europe with Swiss based side Neuchâtel Xamax and went on to feature for Sochaux, Dynamo Kyiv, West Bromwich Albion and Olympiacos.
