Saraki Reiterates Commitment of National Assembly To Ensure 35% Affirmative Action For Women.

President of the Senate Bukola Saraki has stated that the country’s legislature is committed to the implementation of the 35 percent affirmative action which translates to greater inclusion of women both in appointment and elective positions in government.
Saraki made this commitment when he received a delegation of the Conference of Female Parliamentarians in Nigeria at the Senate.
The Senate President says there is the urgent need for a paradigm shift that will give greater room for women’s participation in the country’s politics towards next year’s general elections.
