NIGERIAN CUSTOMS SERVICE IMPOUNDS SMUGGLED PRODUCTS WORTH N50mThe Nigerian customs service Oyo/Osun Area command earlier today paraded smuggled products with a duty paid value of fifty million, six hundred and thirty thousand, five hundred and sixty eight naira, fourteen kobo, intercepted by officers and men of the command.
The comptroller of the command Christopher Odibu while parading the seized products, which included Tokunbo cars, bags of parboiled rice, kegs of vegetable oil, bales of second hand clothes and bags of sugar
He also disclosed that eight suspects were arrested in connection with the unwholesome act
While reiterating the command’s resolve to maintain constant surveillance on the border areas within its control,he attributed the success recorded by the command to intelligence reports and swift response by officers and men of his command.
Comptroller Odibu, while briefing journalist further advised smugglers to desist from smuggling and also stated that they should stay away from the borders he controls as the long arm of the law will surely catch up with them.
