
COMMONWEALTH 2022: NIGERIA WINS GOLD, BRONZE IN WOMEN DISCUS THROW
Chioma Onyekwere has won a gold medal for Nigeria in the women’s discus throw at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Onyekwere became the gold medal winner after throwing 61.7 meters in her third attempt to beat England’s Jade Lally 58.42m throw with the English woman settling for silver medal.
The 61.70m throw is Onyekwere’s best of the season.
Obiageri Amaechi also claimed the bronze medal after finishing third in the final, with a 56.99m throw.
