NEWS UPDATE: GOVERNOR WIKE DENIES SUING ATIKU OVER PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY
The Governor of River State, Nyesom Wike, has denied suing the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, over the outcome of the presidential primaries.
In his speech at the opening of the House of Assembly Quarters in the state capital of Port Harcourt, Wike stated that he was busy “delivering the rewards of democracy.”
Wike stated that he would have appeared in court if he had a valid reason to do so in a broadcast televised by Channels TV on Friday.
“People have phoned me this morning saying that I sued Atiku Abubakar in court,” Wike stated. I want to make it absolutely clear that if there is a cause for me to appear in court, I will do so. However, I skipped court.
“I just want to say it for Nigerians to know. I have kept quiet. I am busy with delivering the dividends of democracy.”
