LAGOS GOVT EXTENDS BECE REGISTRATION DEADLINE
The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) deadline date for the payment and registration which was scheduled for April 14 has now been moved up by two weeks to April 28.
Mr. Orunsolu Adebayo, Director, Lagos State Examinations Board, disclosed this in a press release issued on Thursday on behalf of the State Ministry of Education.
The statement reads: “The Lagos State Ministry of Education through the Examinations Board wish to inform the general public especially the Public Junior Secondary Schools, Approved Private Junior Secondary Schools and Schools with Special Permission that the deadline for Payment and Registration for the Year 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE)earlier fixed for tomorrow, Friday, 14th April, 2023 has now been extended to Friday, 28th April, 2023.
“The extension became necessary due to the hitches encountered by Schools arising from the Network problem on the part of the current economic realities ranging from Central Bank Cashless Policy which made the processes cumbersome for most schools and epileptic Network Services.
“It is important to give room for most of the Approved Private and Special Schools who are yet to register to do so as the Board do not wish to deny any schools the opportunity of taking the Examination.
“To this end, the Examinations Board therefore implores all affected Schools to seize this opportunity as excuses will not be entertained after the expiration of the new date.”
