The Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps has commenced an online recruitment exercise for Neighbourhood Safety Officers across all local government areas of the state.

Details of the recruitment were published on the official website of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) and obtained on Monday.

According to the agency, the recruitment is for Neighbourhood Safety Officer (Group B) positions and is open to qualified applicants on a full-time basis across the 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas of the state.

“Join our community policing initiative to enhance safety and security at the grassroots level,” the agency stated in the recruitment notice.

The LNSA listed the minimum requirements for applicants as possession of SSCE/WAEC qualification, age between 18 and 30 years, physical fitness, and a clean criminal record.

Outlining the application process, the agency said interested candidates are required to complete an online application form and upload the necessary documents through its official recruitment portal.

“Successful applicants will be invited to participate in screening tests and interviews, after which shortlisted candidates will undergo onboarding and commence their engagement with the agency,” the notice added.

The recruitment exercise follows earlier approval by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the engagement of additional officers into the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps.

In a statement issued on January 9 via the agency’s official Facebook page, the General Manager of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, Ifalade Oyekan, said the recruitment would strengthen the corps’ operational capacity and enhance response time to security concerns at the community level.

Oyekan noted that the exercise aligns with the state government’s commitment to improving safety and security, particularly within residential communities and around public schools.

The agency has urged eligible youths and residents of Lagos State to take advantage of the employment opportunity and ensure that all information provided during the application process is accurate and complete.
