EKITI POLICE RECOVER 558 CATTLE FROM ALLEGED CATTLE RUSTLERS

Ado-Ekiti – The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Ekiti State Police Command has recovered 558 cattle from 16 suspected rustlers.

Earlier, the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps, Oye Local Government Command, had arrested several suspects from Kwara State who were planning to move into Ekiti. The suspects, along with their cattle, were first spotted around Gede Farm settlement in Isan-Ekiti, causing panic in the town.

Reinforcements of Amotekun operatives were deployed from nearby outposts to Oye, where combined efforts led to the successful arrest of the suspects.

During interrogation, the suspects admitted fleeing Kwara State due to intensified anti-banditry operations and confessed to cattle rustling, particularly targeting cattle belonging to residents of Kwara.

Authorities recovered cash, seven Tecno phones, various charms, three VGN ID cards, and several herds of cattle from the suspects, who are now in custody.
