On Tuesday, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf gave the oath of office to 21 newly appointed permanent secretaries and 14 new special advisers.

The governor emphasised that their nominations were free of political influence and that their selection process was open and nonpartisan.

“We selected the best in competence, experience, dedication to duty, and proven fear of God,” Governor Yusuf remarked during the swearing-in ceremony.

He vowed that their contributions were essential to a better future for Kano and exhorted the recently appointed authorities to pursue greatness.

Yusuf emphasised how important it is for these people to encourage a fresh dedication to turning Kano into a ray of hope and progress.

He urged the appointments to fully commit to serving the people and furthering the interests of the state, emphasising a strong stance against ineptitude and office malpractice.

“While acknowledging the inevitability of human error, I urge caution in fulfilling the oath you’ve taken,” he cautioned, underlining the need for impeccable service delivery.

The governor sternly advised against using political considerations as a metric for discharging their duties, urging a culture of sincerity and eschewing gossip.

“Should you faithfully discharge your duties, boundless opportunities await,” Governor Yusuf affirmed, concluding his address to the new appointees.
