The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has advocated for participants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to allocate the party’s presidential nomination to the southern sector of the nation in the 2027 election.
Wike expressed this late Monday while reciting a statement following a gathering of essential participants of the party under the auspices of the “Concerned Stakeholders of the PDP.”
“In the interest of equity, inclusivity, federal character principles, and adherence to our party constitution, the Party must issue a clear declaration designating its presidential candidate to the South for the 2027 elections following the uninterrupted years of Northern leadership under President Muhammadu Buhari,” the communiqué stated.
“In accordance with the stipulations of our party constitution, solely the National Secretary, Senator Sam Anyanwu, is authorized to communicate notifications regarding the meetings of the National Convention, National Executive Committee, National Caucus, and the National Working Committee. Consequently, any notices not disseminated by him, along with actions predicated on them, including communications to INEC, are deemed null and void and hold no validity whatsoever. ”

Wike also said the group recognizes Sam Anyanwu as the party’s National Secretary.
It resolved that, “to finally arrest the inexorable drift towards extinction in our party, the party must, without further delay, respect the judgment of the Supreme Court. We, therefore, unequivocally reaffirm Senator Sam Anyanwu as the duly elected and substantive National Secretary of our great party”.
