SAMUEL AYETUTU ASSUMES LEADERSHIP OF LAGOS NIPR AS COMFORT NWANKWO JOINS NATIONAL COUNCIL

The Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has undergone a leadership transition, with Dr. Samuel Ayetutu officially assuming the role of Chapter Chairman.
This follows the election of Mrs. Comfort Obot Nwankwo into the Governing Council of the NIPR at the Institute’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Uyo in May 2025.
Previously serving as Vice Chairman, Dr. Ayetutu will now complete the remainder of the current executive council’s tenure, which concludes on Thursday, August 14, 2025, when new elections are expected to take place.
According to a statement issued by Samuel O. Adeyemi, Public Relations Officer of the Lagos Chapter, the leadership transition officially took place on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, during the Chapter’s first Monthly Meeting following the AGM in Uyo.
During the handover ceremony, Mrs. Nwankwo expressed her appreciation for the overwhelming support received throughout her leadership and thanked members for their commitment to the Chapter’s growth.
In his acceptance remarks, Dr. Ayetutu, who also successfully defended his PhD thesis at Babcock University on the same day, praised Mrs. Nwankwo for her exceptional stewardship and unwavering dedication to both the Chapter and the Institute.
He urged members to foster unity and collaboration, pledging to uphold the Chapter’s standards and advance the influence and recognition of the public relations profession in Lagos State.
Under the NIPR Chapter Administration By-Law (Amended 2024), Mrs. Nwankwo retains her seat on the Chapter’s Executive Council as Ex-Officio and now serves as Internal Auditor.
She is joined by Mr. Olusegun McMedal, who was also elected into the NIPR Council at the Uyo AGM.
Dr. Ayetutu is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, a Fellow of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, and an active Rotarian.
He brings over 24 years of experience in integrated marketing communications, known for his strategic insight, creativity, and professionalism.
