The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has expressed deep concern over the recent targeting of Iranian nuclear facilities by the United States, calling for de-escalation and a diplomatic resolution to the unfolding crisis.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, June 22, 2025, the Kingdom reaffirmed its earlier position, as outlined in a June 13 declaration, strongly condemning what it described as a violation of Iran’s sovereignty.
“The Kingdom underscores the need to exert all possible efforts to exercise restraint, de-escalate tensions, and avoid further escalation,” the statement read.
Saudi Arabia also called on the international community to intensify efforts to reach a political solution during what it described as a “highly sensitive period,” emphasizing the urgency of restoring peace and stability in the region.
The remarks come in response to U.S. airstrikes confirmed by President Donald Trump, which targeted Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan nuclear facilities.
Saudi Arabia’s statement read in full, “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is following with deep concern the developments in the Islamic Republic of Iran, particularly the targeting of Iranian nuclear facilities by the United States of America.
“The Kingdom reaffirms the contents of its statement issued on June 13, 2025, in which it condemned and denounced the violation of the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“The Kingdom underscores the need to exert all possible efforts to exercise restraint, de-escalate tensions, and avoid further escalation.
“The Kingdom also calls on the international community to intensify its efforts during this highly sensitive period to reach a political solution that would bring an end to the crisis and open a new chapter for achieving security and stability in the region.”
