…As Founder, Management, Staff and Stakeholders Reflect on Four Decades of Impact, Innovation, and Hope for the Future
Premier Standard Industrial Limited, a leading name in the Nigerian industrial and distribution sector, marked a significant milestone this week as it celebrated its 40th anniversary.
The event, which brought together founding members, staff, partners, industry stakeholders, and dignitaries, was filled with heartfelt gratitude, reflection, and renewed optimism for the future.
The Managing Director, Mr. Gbolahan Adenuga, in his opening remarks, emphasized the power of resilience, teamwork, and faith in sustaining a business through four decades of national and global economic turbulence.
Quoting Psalm 18:33, “He makes me as strong-footed as a deer and enables me to stand on mountain heights”, he likened the company’s journey to climbing a mountain, noting that while the summit has not yet been reached, the strength and footing gained over the years are testament to God’s grace and the hard work of the entire Premier Standard family.
“We are 40 years in the making,” the MD said. “And we give God the glory for making us strong-footed. That speaks of endurance, stability, and strength. Today is truly a day of thanksgiving.”
The Chairman and Founder, Chief Fatai Adenuga, in a moving and nostalgic speech, traced the humble beginnings of Premier Standard to a small 10-by-20 warehouse in a residential building.
With laughter and candor, he recalled the early days when he played the role of attendant, clerk, salesperson, and logistics manager all at once.
He credited the vision and persistence that kept the business alive during tough times and most importantly, the people who helped carry the dream forward.
“It means I’m not just celebrating the company,” he noted, “but also our collective ability to survive the stormy weather of the business world. The success we’ve achieved so far is just the beginning of a longer journey.”
With emotion, he saluted the Premier Standard staff, choosing not to refer to them as “employees” but as “family.”
“They are honest, they are dedicated, and without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today. I don’t like using the word ‘staff’, we belong to the same family.”
A special moment came when Mrs. Olufumilayo Adenuga, wife of the Chairman, offered heartfelt praise and prayers. She described the 40-year journey as one anchored in divine strength and humility.
“Without God, we are nothing,” she said. “We’ve gone through challenges, but with God, all things are possible. My husband has been a wonderful leader, humble, visionary, and a man who listens to God. I just want to say, this 40th anniversary is only a starting point.”
Her prayers extended to all Premier Standard staff and guests in attendance, asking for continued blessings and progress for the company and everyone connected to it.
Staff members also spoke, offering candid and touching accounts of how the chairman’s leadership and vision shaped the company’s culture of innovation, tenacity, and respect. One longtime staff member described him as a “driving spirit” and a leader who inspired others to dream beyond the boundaries of convention.
Throughout the event, attendees were reminded that Premier Standard’s legacy is not just in products or profits, but in people the builders, the dreamers, and the believers who stood by the company through every challenge.
As the celebration closed, the atmosphere was festive, with music, dancing, and expressions of joy for a company that has not only survived but thrived through the decades. Looking forward, Premier Standard is positioning itself for even greater heights, guided by faith, driven by innovation, and anchored in unity.
