President Bola Tinubu and First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Monday received Nigeria’s Super Falcons at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, following their stunning comeback victory over Morocco to win the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The team, now 10-time African champions, arrived at the forecourt of Aso Rock at exactly 4:36 p.m., accompanied by coaching staff and officials. They were received by the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

The reception followed their dramatic 3-2 triumph over hosts Morocco in Saturday’s final, where the Falcons overturned a 2-0 half-time deficit to lift the trophy for a record 10th time.

In a post-match video call on Saturday night, President Tinubu had personally congratulated team captain and tournament MVP, Rasheedat Ajibade, commending her leadership and the team’s resilience.

“This victory is not only for you, but for every Nigerian. You have once again proven the spirit and strength of our women,” Tinubu said.

The win marks the Falcons’ fourth WAFCON title in a decade, adding to their 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2024 triumphs, further cementing Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football.
