Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Leaders of the ADC’s Kogi State chapter presented Melaye with his membership card during a visit to his office.

Melaye confirmed the development in a video shared on his X handle on Thursday.

The membership card was handed over by the ADC leader in Kogi State, Kingsley Temitope, accompanied by the state secretary, local government chairman and secretary, as well as the ward chairman and secretary.

Wearing an outfit bearing the ADC’s logo, Temitope declared, “I present to Distinguish senator Dino Melaye the membership card of African Democratic Congress. He is a full member and has started contributing to the party even before we presented him with the membership card.”

In response, Melaye wrote: “SDM fully ADC.”

His defection follows his official resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he attributed to the party’s inability to rescue Nigeria from “the prevailing political cankerworms.”
