GOVERNOR ALIA MAKES NEW APPOINTMENTS, RECONSTITUTES STATUTORY BOARDS

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has declared new appointments and restructured statutory boards of agencies and commissions within the state.

Among those appointed is Mrs. Elizabeth Shuluwa, a retired Permanent Secretary, former Commissioner, and the widow of the late First Class monarch, Chief Abu King Shuluwa.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the Governor reformed the board of the Benue State Pension Commission, appointing Nicholas Mbajwa as Chairman.

Additional board members include Alloysius Umaja, Asen Sambe, the Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Commissioner of Finance, the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, the Head of Service, and the Director-General of the Benue State Planning Commission.

The board of the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) was also reconstituted, with Mrs. Elizabeth Shuluwa designated as Chairman.

Other members of the BIPC board encompass Andrew Chila, Donald Ashi, John Oyishoma, the Commissioner for Trade and Industry, and the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the State.

The Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS) board continues to be chaired by Joseph Kwaghgba. Its members include Ande Shianti, Jeremiah Anyam, Elizabeth Onekele, a representative from the Ministry of Finance, and a representative from the Ministry of Agriculture.

Further appointments announced include Linda Agada as Special Adviser on MSMEs/Microfinance; James Tor as Special Adviser on Politics, Mobilization, and Special Duties; Dr. Shadrach Ukuma as Director-General of Arts, Culture, and Tourism; and Tivlumun Bulya as Personal Assistant regarding Benue State House of Assembly Matters.

The Governor underscored that these appointments, which take immediate effect, are integral to his administration’s initiatives aimed at enhancing governance frameworks and promoting sustainable development throughout the state.

He urged the appointees to consider their selection as a summons to service, reaffirming his administration’s dedication to fulfilling its mandate in transforming Benue State for the benefit of all residents.
