FUBARA SACKS ALL COMMISSIONERS, PUBLIC OFFICERS IN RIVERS AFTER SUPREME COURT JUDGMENT

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has dismissed all commissioners and public officers serving under his administration with immediate effect.
The decision, announced in a statement on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, follows the recent Supreme Court judgment.
During a valedictory session with his cabinet at Government House, Port Harcourt, to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, Fubara thanked his aides for their services and contributions to the state’s development over the past two years.
The governor used the occasion to call on Nigerians to unite behind President Bola Tinubu in building a peaceful and prosperous nation, while reaffirming his own commitment to serve Rivers State with renewed vigour.
“Furthermore, the Governor has relieved all Commissioners and other public officers affected by the recent Supreme Court judgement of their appointments with immediate effect,” the statement read.
The development comes weeks after Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), who served as Rivers’ Administrator during the period of emergency rule, suspended commissioners, aides, and dissolved boards across the state before exiting office on September 18.
