EX-BBNAIJA HOUSEMATE FAITH JOINS LAGOS FOOD BANK TO FIGHT HUNGER, SUPPORT VULNERABLE FAMILIES

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Faith Adewale is using his platform for social impact as he joins Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) for a major outreach aimed at supporting vulnerable families facing food insecurity in Lagos.
The outreach, taking place today, Wednesday, October 15, at the LFBI Warehouse, is part of the organisation’s Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), which provides relief to families hit hardest by hunger and the rising cost of living.
This marks Faith’s return to LFBI’s humanitarian activities after volunteering under the #NUMEPlan — a program dedicated to treating and feeding malnourished children.
“Big Brother changed his life, now he’s choosing to change the world,” LFBI wrote on X, announcing the collaboration. “Faith Adewale is not just using his voice; he’s using his platform to give back… This isn’t just an outreach; it’s a movement of love, hope, and action.”
Faith, who participated in Season 10 of Big Brother Naija, has remained vocal about turning his experience — which included taking a ₦5 million loan to enter the show — into a mission-driven journey. “Despite everything, I’m grateful to my supporters. Now, it’s time to focus on purpose and impact,” he said in a recent statement.
As part of today’s outreach, LFBI is partnering with five non-profit organisations JKO Heart Foundation, McDera Food Bank, The Glow Foundation, Faith Moves Foundation, and I Care For All Foundation — under its Food Bank Network Nigeria initiative to strengthen community resilience and reduce hunger nationwide.
The outreach also falls under LFBI’s #AgricoveryProgram, which recovers surplus farm produce and redistributes it to vulnerable groups, including the elderly, persons with disabilities, and families struggling with diet-related health conditions.
LFBI highlighted the paradox of Nigeria’s food system: “Nigeria faces a paradox of food surplus and widespread hunger. Our mission is to bridge that gap — to ensure no one goes hungry while food goes to waste.”
By salvaging fresh farm produce from local farms and redistributing it to informal settlements, LFBI aims to address the structural challenges of food loss, waste, and hunger in the country.
The organisation noted that despite Nigeria’s status as a major agricultural producer, food insecurity persists due to inefficiencies in the supply chain — leading to economic losses, environmental impacts, and malnutrition among vulnerable populations.
Faith’s involvement signals a growing trend of celebrities using their platforms for social impact, bringing attention and resources to critical issues like hunger and poverty.
