RESCUE TEAM SAVES 32-YEAR-OLD WOMAN TRAPPED IN 60FT LAGOS WELL

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service successfully extricated a 32-year-old female who inadvertently plunged into an exposed well, approximately 60 feet deep, located at Number 14, Mustapha Bolatiwa Street, near Agric Bus Stop in the Ikorodu region of the state.

The occurrence, which garnered significant public interest in the vicinity, was characterized as “a miracle. ”

As per reports, the woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, had strayed from a nearby premises and was perched on the brink of the well when she unexpectedly lost her balance and fell inside.

Upon receiving an emergency notification, representatives from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service promptly arrived at the location and initiated a well-coordinated rescue mission.

The Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, verified that the woman was successfully retrieved alive following a tense and intricate operation.

The individual was then transported to a local medical facility for requisite care.

Adeseye, however, urged the community to ensure that wells and similar openings are adequately sealed to avert such incidents in the future.

She also praised the prompt action and professionalism exhibited by the rescue team, reinforcing the service’s dedication to protecting lives and property throughout the state.
