TINUBU’S AIDE DONATES LEARNING MATERIALS TO 10,000 OGUN PUPILS
A personal aide to President Bola Tinubu, Yusuf Kamorudeen, has donated learning materials to more than 10,000 pupils across public primary schools in Ogun State.
The gesture, carried out under the Back-to-School Project of the Alliance for Kamosky Group, aims to support quality education and ease the financial burden on parents in the state.
The initiative, which began earlier in October, covered all 20 local government areas of Ogun State. Pupils received school bags, exercise books, pens, pencils, and other essential learning materials.
According to the organisers, the first phase of the distribution started in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area on October 2, while the second phase commenced on October 13, reaching schools across the state’s four educational zones.
In total, over 11,000 exercise books, 10,000 backpacks, and 15,000 pens and pencils were distributed to pupils in more than 65 public primary schools.
Speaking through Dr. Lateef Sulaimon, an Associate Professor at the University of Abuja, Kamorudeen said the project was designed to complement government efforts in improving access to education for all children.
“Education remains the foundation for building strong communities and a prosperous future. This project is my way of supporting parents and ensuring that no child is left behind because of a lack of basic learning materials,” he said.
He added that the intervention aligns with the Ogun State Government’s vision to promote inclusive and high-quality education across the state.
Parents, teachers, and community leaders who witnessed the distribution exercise commended the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful. Many noted that the donation would not only encourage pupils to stay in school but also boost their morale and academic performance.
The Back-to-School Project is one of several educational support programmes spearheaded by Kamorudeen and his foundation, aimed at promoting learning and youth empowerment in local communities.
Stakeholders have lauded the gesture as an example of how private individuals and organisations can complement government efforts in revitalising the nation’s education sector.
