Former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, has dismissed rumours about his wellbeing, stating that he woke up to widespread false claims suggesting otherwise.

In a statement posted on his verified Facebook page on Friday, he clarified that he is alive, healthy, and in excellent condition, debunking the rumour of his death.

Obiano described the speculation as unfortunate, blaming it on individuals who “find joy in spreading falsehood” for reasons that remain unclear. He stressed that such mischief would not distract him.

He expressed gratitude to those who reached out with calls, messages, and prayers, noting that their love and goodwill meant more than words could convey.

He urged the public to disregard the rumour completely, adding that he remains focused, grateful, and guided by God’s grace.

The statement reads, “My beloved Ndi Anambra, friends, and well-wishers, I woke to hear of a rumour making the rounds about my well-being. Let me assure you personally:

“I am alive, hale, hearty, and in excellent health.

By the special grace of God, I am doing very well.

“It is unfortunate that some individuals still find joy in spreading falsehood simply for reasons yet to be established. But we will continue to rise above such mischief.

“To everyone who reached out with calls, messages, and prayers, I sincerely appreciate your concern. Your love and goodwill mean more than words can express.

“Please disregard the rumour entirely. We remain focused, grateful, and guided by God’s grace. Daalu nu, and may God bless you all.”
