Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Wednesday arrived in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area, after Nigerian military personnel took control of the community in response to Tuesday’s deadly attack.

The Governor visited the area alongside security chiefs and senior government officials, addressing church members and reassuring residents of ongoing efforts by his administration in collaboration with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to restore peace and stability.

Governor AbdulRazaq pledged that all necessary measures are being implemented to protect lives and properties, stating that the government is fully committed to ensuring the safety of residents.

He lauded the swift deployment of military and security operatives, describing their intervention as instrumental in restoring public confidence and preventing further escalation of violence.

The Governor urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security forces as operations continue.

Meanwhile, the state government revealed that enhanced intelligence-gathering initiatives, including coordination with local vigilante groups and traditional rulers, have commenced to reinforce security in border communities across Kwara South.

Governor AbdulRazaq stressed that his administration will not relent until criminal elements destabilizing the peace of the state are fully eradicated.
