OGUN GOVT MOVES TO PROSECUTE DJ CHICKEN OVER MULTIPLE ROAD CRASHES

The Ogun State Government has announced plans to swiftly prosecute popular entertainer Ademola Abiodun, widely known as DJ Chicken, following a series of road incidents allegedly caused by reckless driving.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Justice, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has directed officials to fast-track legal action against Abiodun over a November 1 crash in Sagamu, Ogun State.
According to the ministry, Abiodun reportedly rammed his vehicle into two motorcycles, resulting in serious injuries to a rider and his female passenger. Witnesses say the entertainer displayed no remorse and attempted to flee the scene before being mobbed by bystanders.
The state government said police investigators have since prioritised the medical recovery and privacy of the victims while reviewing the matter.
However, the ministry noted that a second crash, involving Abiodun, occurred yesterday, November 23, in Lekki, Lagos State, in what was described as a lone accident that almost harmed pedestrians. The latest crash is reportedly his third in two months behind the wheel. The statement emphasised the need for criminal intervention to protect the public.
“While it may be reasonable to resolve road traffic collisions as a civil wrong, some road users are special dangers to society and should be held to account under criminal law.
Mr Abiodun is one such person.”The government said at least two of the crashes were captured in real-time video and are “self-evident,” adding that the entertainer’s “heedless return to the wheel with no greater care just three weeks after” the Sagamu incident has intensified public outrage.
The Ministry of Justice confirmed that it is working closely with the police to ensure Abiodun’s prompt arraignment.
If prosecuted and found guilty, the entertainer may face penalties under traffic and criminal laws for endangering lives through reckless driving.
