SOLUDO, WIFE MARK 33RD WEDDING ANNIVERSARY WITH THANKSGIVING MASS IN ANAMBRA

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and his wife, Nonye, on Friday marked their 33rd wedding anniversary with a solemn Thanksgiving Mass held at their country home in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area of the state.
The event attracted family members, friends, dignitaries, top government officials, civil servants, well-wishers and members of the host community, who gathered to celebrate the couple’s enduring union.
The Mass was officiated by the Catholic Bishop of the Ekwulọbịa Diocese, His Eminence Peter Cardinal Okpaleke, who offered prayers of thanksgiving, blessings and continued grace for the governor and his wife. In his homily, the Cardinal urged Christians to depend on God in all circumstances and encouraged young couples to draw inspiration from the Soludos’ marriage, which he described as a model of faith and perseverance.
Speaking at the event, Governor Soludo expressed gratitude to God for sustaining their marriage over the past 33 years and thanked his wife for her unwavering love and support. He also appreciated friends, associates and members of the public who joined the family to celebrate the milestone, stressing that patience, understanding and shared values were key to building a lasting home.
In a message shared on his Facebook page on Saturday, the governor described his wife as his best friend and confidante, reflecting on the journey they have shared and expressing optimism for many more years together. He noted that the celebration went beyond their marriage, acknowledging the community and people who have supported them over the years.
In a separate statement, Mrs Soludo, founder of Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, said the anniversary was marked by the renewal of their marriage vows in the presence of friends, loved ones and their six children. She described her marriage as the best decision of her life, attributing its strength to faith, friendship and commitment.
Earlier, the Catholic Bishop of the Nnewi Diocese, Most Rev. Jonas-Benson Okoye, praised the couple for their exemplary union, describing their marriage as a testament to God’s grace and the power of walking together in faith and mutual support.
The Thanksgiving Mass was attended by the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, and his wife; the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Sly Ezeokenwa; members of the Anambra State Executive Council; senior government officials, clergy and other distinguished guests.
