The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) has announced the reopening of all public parks under its management across Lagos State, following the successful completion of routine maintenance and upgrade works.
The parks, which were temporarily closed from January 12 to January 31, 2026, to allow for landscaping, facility repairs and general upgrades after increased usage during the festive season, are now fully open for public use.
Popular recreational centres, including Ndubisi Kanu Park, Alausa (JJT Park), Dr. Finnih Abayomi Park, Oregun, as well as other LASPARK-managed parks across the State, are now accessible to residents and visitors.
According to the Agency, the maintenance exercise was necessary to preserve the safety, cleanliness and overall ambience of the parks, ensuring they continue to serve as serene and functional green spaces for relaxation, recreation and wellness.
While welcoming Lagosians back to enjoy the refreshed parks, LASPARK appealed to members of the public to take collective responsibility for the upkeep of the facilities by using park amenities responsibly, avoiding littering and helping to protect public assets.
It emphasised that caring for public parks is a shared duty, as the spaces are vital to environmental sustainability, community wellbeing and the overall quality of life in the State.
The Agency reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining vibrant, clean and accessible green spaces that enhance urban living and encourage healthy lifestyles across Lagos State.
