Kampala Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into the killing of a 24-year-old social media content creator and businesswoman, Diana Namulinde, whose body was found in her apartment in the Kyanja area of the city.
The Deputy Spokesperson of the Kampala Metropolitan Police, Luke Owoyesigyire, said the incident occurred on the night of February 3, 2026, in Kwaata Zone, Kyanja Ward, Kawempe Division. Namulinde, popularly known online as Diana Skys, was reportedly living alone at the time of the attack.
Her body was discovered on February 4 after friends, concerned about her whereabouts, visited her residence and found the apartment door open.
Owoyesigyire said homicide detectives and scene-of-crime officers were immediately deployed to the location, where they documented the scene, recovered exhibits and recorded statements from witnesses.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Namulinde was strangled, with police suspecting the killing occurred during an aggravated robbery.
A security guard attached to the premises was initially arrested after he was found in possession of items believed to have been stolen from the deceased. Police later identified three suspects in connection with the crime, with two currently in custody to assist ongoing investigations.
“The body of the deceased was conveyed to KCCA Mulago City Mortuary for postmortem examination, and investigations are ongoing,” Owoyesigyire said on Thursday.
The killing has sparked outrage and grief among Namulinde’s followers and members of the online community, where she was known as a fast-rising influencer and entrepreneur. Police have assured the public that all leads are being pursued to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
