President Bola Tinubu will on Saturday embark on a one-day official visit to Kebbi State to inaugurate projects executed by Governor Dr Nasir Idris.

The President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement on Friday titled, ‘President Tinubu Embarks on One-Day Official Visit To Kebbi State.’

According to the statement, Tinubu will also headline the 61st edition of the 2026 Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival as Special Guest of Honour.

The Argungu Festival is regarded as one of Nigeria’s most historic and celebrated cultural events, drawing participants and tourists from across the country and beyond to celebrate tradition, unity and the end of the farming season. The festival is staged along the riverside at the historic Matan Fada, which has been recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

First held in 1934 as a peace initiative between the Sokoto Caliphate and the Kebbi Kingdom, the festival has evolved into a major tourism and cultural event, featuring traditional fishing competitions, cultural displays and musical performances.

Saturday’s trip will mark Tinubu’s first official visit to Kebbi State since assuming office.
