Tottenham Hotspur have appointed Igor Tudor as Men’s Head Coach until the end of the season, pending a work permit, following the dismissal of former manager Thomas Frank.
Frank was relieved of his duties on Wednesday after Tuesday’s 2–1 home loss to Newcastle United left Spurs sitting 16th in the Premier League, only five points above the relegation zone.
In a statement published on Saturday via the club’s official website, Tottenham said Tudor has been brought in with a clear objective to improve performances, secure positive results, and guide the team up the league standings.
“His mandate is straightforward – bring organisation, intensity and competitive edge to the squad at a decisive stage of the campaign,” the club stated.
Reacting to his appointment, Tudor said: “It is an honour to join this Club at an important moment.
“I understand the responsibility I have been handed and my focus is clear. To bring greater consistency to our performances and compete with conviction in every match.
“There is strong quality in this playing squad, and my job is to organise it, energise it and improve our results quickly.”
Sporting Director Johan Lange also expressed confidence in the new coach, saying, “Igor brings clarity, intensity, and experience of stepping into challenging moments and producing impact.
“Our objective is straightforward—to stabilize performances, maximize the quality within the squad, and compete strongly in the Premier League and Champions League.”
Tudor, a former Croatia international and Serie A title winner with Juventus as a player, has built a reputation for improving teams after mid-season appointments. He has previously managed Galatasaray, Udinese, Hajduk Split, and Hellas Verona.
He guided Marseille to a third-place finish in Ligue 1 during the 2022/23 season to secure Champions League qualification and in March 2024 led Lazio to a strong Serie A finish and Europa League qualification.
Most recently, he returned to Juventus in March 2025, helping the club qualify for the Champions League.
Earlier reports had indicated that Tottenham were close to appointing Tudor on a short-term deal after the Croatian signalled his willingness to accept a contract running until June.
