Former Kano governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed deep regret over the Kano State Government’s decision to leave the Kwankwasiyya movement and join the All Progressives Congress (APC), a government he once helped bring to power.

Kwankwaso made the remarks following the official reception of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his allies into the APC.

In a video shared on Facebok, he said he could not understand why the government established under the Kwankwasiyya ideology had suddenly shifted to what he called Gandujiyya, the faction aligned with former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

“This government was built with great sacrifice, yet, without any clear reason that we know, it has been taken from our Kwankwasiyya structure and moved elsewhere,” he lamented.

He described the development as both painful and disappointing but acknowledged that only God knows the true reason behind it.

Kwankwaso said he continues to pray that the outcome will ultimately benefit his supporters.

He also congratulated members of the Kano State House of Assembly who won recent elections in Ungogo and parts of Kano Municipal, even as he noted the low voter turnout.

He concluded by sending well wishes to all Kwankwasiyya supporters and emphasized that those who followed the government into the APC still have the option to return, noting that the door remains open.
