A former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has shown strong worry about several violent attacks in Adamawa State that have killed over 20 people in recent days.
These attacks happened in Madagali and Hong Local Government Areas, showing that the North-East part of Nigeria still faces serious security issues.
Atiku, who once ran for president as a candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and is a well–known political leader, shared his thoughts on his official X account on Friday.
He talked about how the attacks have caused a lot of loss of life and how they affect the region‘s stability.
In his message, Atiku wrote, “I am greatly upset by the tragic attacks in Adamawa State, where armed men killed over 20 people in a market in Madagali and Hong local government areas.”
He also said, “This attack shows that insecurity is getting worse in the country and makes the crisis in the North-East even more serious.”
Atiku called on the authorities to take quick and strong action, saying, “I ask the authorities to work harder to stop this problem, make sure the people behind these attacks are punished, and improve security to stop more attacks from happening.”
