Paris Saint-Germain crushed any hopes of a Chelsea comeback with a dominant 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, securing an emphatic 8-2 aggregate victory to advance to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring early, setting the tone for the visitors, before Bradley Barcola doubled the lead with a superb strike to effectively end Chelsea’s slim chances of overturning their first-leg deficit.

Substitute Senny Mayulu added a third goal in the second half, sealing a comprehensive win for Luis Enrique’s side, who will now face either Liverpool or Galatasaray in the next round.

The result keeps PSG’s title defence firmly on track, just a year after claiming their maiden Champions League trophy. It also serves as revenge for their defeat to Chelsea in last July’s Club World Cup final.

Chelsea, however, fell well short of the standard required at this level and never looked capable of mounting a comeback after their late collapse in the first leg. Their focus now shifts to securing qualification for next season’s competition following a disappointing run of results.

PSG took control early, with Kvaratskhelia capitalising on a defensive error to give the visitors the lead inside six minutes. Barcola’s stunning effort soon followed, leaving Chelsea with an insurmountable task.

Mayulu wrapped up the scoring after the break, finishing clinically after Kvaratskhelia’s build-up play, as the hosts endured a frustrating night that was further worsened by a late injury to Trevoh Chalobah, forcing them to finish the match with 10 men.
