ARSENAL STARLET BREAKS YAMAL’S RECORD IN UCL CLASH

Arsenal youngster Max Dowman made history on Tuesday night, becoming the youngest player to appear in a Champions League knockout match.

The 16-year-old broke the previous record held by Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, who was 16 years and 223 days old when he featured against Napoli in February 2024.

Dowman, aged 16 years and 97 days, was introduced from the bench by Mikel Arteta as Arsenal pushed for a result against Sporting in the first leg of their quarter-final clash.

The versatile teenager, capable of playing in midfield and on the wings, has enjoyed a record-breaking campaign. Just last month, he scored a brilliant solo goal in a 2-0 win over Everton, becoming the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history.
