APC URGES SARAKI, PDP TO ALLOW COURT DECIDE, NOT MEDIA

The Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticised recent remarks by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bukola Saraki, accusing them of trying to influence public perception and misrepresent ongoing legal proceedings.
In a statement issued by its State Publicity Secretary, Abdulwaheed Olawale Babatunde, the APC urged Saraki and the PDP to allow the courts to handle the matter based on evidence rather than engaging in media campaigns.
The party stressed that legal issues should be resolved in court, not through public statements, noting that those confident of their innocence should have no reason to avoid judicial scrutiny.
Responding to Saraki’s denial of any connection to convicted individuals, the APC said such claims would be tested against evidence and testimonies when the case resumes in court. It maintained that available accounts from investigators do not align with the narrative being presented publicly.
The APC also warned against politicising the issue, stating that the judiciary must be allowed to function independently without external pressure or interference.
It commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for upholding due process, emphasising that the law should apply equally to all, regardless of political status.
The party further argued that renewed discussions around the Offa robbery case were attempts by the opposition to distract from the state government’s achievements in areas such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and rural development.
Reaffirming its position, the APC said it remains committed to promoting security, justice, and development in Kwara State, while urging residents to remain focused on governance rather than political distractions.
