Armed bandits struck Kemanji village in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State early Monday, killing many residents, according to the MEDIA.

Security sources said the нападение occurred around 3 a.m. and also claimed the lives of some soldiers. Troops of the Nigerian Army, alongside local vigilantes, reportedly engaged the attackers in a fierce gun battle that lasted until about 5 a.m.

Although the exact number of casualties remains unclear, several soldiers were confirmed dead during the clash.

The latest incident follows recent attacks by bandits on Woro and Nuku communities in the same local government area, where many people were killed, homes destroyed, and over 100 residents abducted, many of whom are still being held captive.

In a separate incident, suspected bandits on Sunday attacked Ora Ayegbaju in Obbo-Ile, Ekiti Local Government Area. Three brothers were fatally injured in the late-night нападение, while other residents fled to safety.

The injured victims were identified as AbdulJareem Adamu, AbdulJareem Yunusa, and AbdulJareem Yusuf.

They are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Osi town.

As of Monday, authorities had not issued any official response to the two incidents.
