LASCOPA SIGNS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH FCCPC

The General Manager/CEO of the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA), Afolabi Solebo Esq. today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, Mr. Tunji Bello, at the FCCPC Headquarters in Abuja, on the protection and promotion of consumer rights for residents of Lagos State.

The partnership marks a significant step toward strengthening consumer
protection frameworks, enhancing collaboration between the two agencies, and ensuring that consumers in Lagos State enjoy fair treatment, product safety, and effective redressal mechanisms.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment
to safeguarding consumer interests, promoting market fairness, and addressing emerging consumer issues through strategic cooperation.

Solebo said that this Memorandum of Understanding further demonstrates
the shared resolve of both agencies to create a more transparent, accountable, and consumer-friendly marketplace for all residents of Lagos State.

Noting that the strategy is to empower LASCOPA to function above the
Lagos State Consumer Law, Solebo maintained that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is for the betterment of Lagos State Consumers.
