By Aishat Momoh. O.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed its House of Representatives primary election for the 2027 general elections by one day, while retaining all other dates in its previously released primary timetable.
The party announced the adjustment in a statement issued on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
According to the statement, only the House of Representatives primary election was affected by the change.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) announces the postponement of the House of Representatives Primary Election for the 2027 General Elections to Saturday, 16th May, 2026,” the statement read.
The APC clarified that the rest of the party’s scheduled primaries would proceed as earlier announced.
It stated that the Senate primary election will still hold on Monday, May 18, 2026, while the State House of Assembly primary election remains fixed for Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
The governorship primary is scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2026, while the presidential primary will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The clarification followed reports suggesting that the ruling party had made broader changes to its primary timetable, claims the APC dismissed as inaccurate.
The party insisted that no other adjustment had been made apart from the shift in the House of Representatives primary date.
