Mourinho Gets New £65m Five -Year Deal
United finished in an underwhelming sixth place in the Premier League in his debut season, but Mourinho made up for it by guiding them to EFL Cup and Europa League honours.
And the Portuguese boss has gone from strength to strength with the Red Devils getting off to a flying start this season.
- They are currently unbeaten in all competitions and find themselves perched at the top of the Premier League table alongside arch rivals Manchester City on 19 points.
And The Sun claim United are ready to reward him for his efforts by handing him a bumper new five-year contract worth £65m a year.
Jose Mourinho is the best-paid manager in world football alongside Pep Guardiola at City, with both earning £250,000-per-week.
This basic wage is expected to stay the same, but his incentive package for trophies and league positions is set to skyrocket.
Mourinho is apparently ready to sign the contract United have offered him, but the final details are yet to be agreed.
The Sun add the Glazer family have made it clear they are willing to back him to achieve success, with Mourinho wanting to get United back on top in Europe again.
Up next for United is a Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday (12:30pm).
