CP OWOHUNWA ORDERS PROBE AS ONE DIES IN JTF, TRUCK DRIVERS CLASH IN LAGOS
Idowu Owohunwa, the commissioner of police in Lagos State, has called for an investigation into the death of a driver who was slain during a fight on Tuesday morning in the Mile 2 neighbourhood of Lagos State.
According to eyewitness accounts, the altercation between truck drivers and what appeared to be police officers swiftly turned chaotic, with enraged kids barricading the area and lighting bonfires along the motorway.
The Joint Task Force members who reportedly carried out the attack that resulted in the death of one victim and the hospitalisation of another, according to Lagos State Police Command spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin, were not members of the state command.
According to Hundeyin, the police commissioner visited the location of the incident, and the neighbourhood is now back to normal as an inquiry is conducted to identify those responsible for the attack.
He did, however, add that police officers had been sent out immediately to preserve peace and order in the neighbourhood.
