TINUBU APPROVES IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION OF HALIMA SHEHU AS NSIPA NATIONAL COORDINATOR
The National Coordinator and CEO of the National Social Investment Programme Agency, Ms. Halima Shehu, has been placed under immediate suspension and is the subject of an investigation by President Bola Tinubu due to allegations of financial wrongdoing.
Dr. Akindele Egbuwalo, the National N-POWER Programme Manager, has been appointed in an acting capacity as NC/CEO until the investigation into the claims is concluded, due to the suspension of the programme.
About three months have passed since the Senate confirmed her appointment, at which point she was suspended.
Prior to her appointment, Halima was employed by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development as the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme. That was in the year 2022.
