2023/2024 ACADEMIC SESSION: LAGOS STATE COLLEGE OF HEALTH EDUCATION ADMITS OVER 600 STUDENTS

The newly admitted students of Lagos State College of Health Technology, Yaba, have been advised to infuse creativity and innovation into their academic journey for a well-rounded educational experience.

The Honourable Commissioner for Ministry of Tertiary Education, Mr. Tolani Sule advised on Thursday during the 24th matriculation ceremony of the college held at the school premises in Yaba.

The Honourable Commissioner, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tertiary Education, Mr. Waheed Kasali, said students must think of ways of adding value to themselves to enable them to make great impacts as Allied Healthcare professionals.

He said the 21st-century educational system is knowledge-driven, adding that this has placed enormous responsibilities on the students of the college to seek more knowledge and widen their horizons to enable them to compete favourably without fear with their counterparts globally.

In his words: “There is a need for our students to be well-focused, self-disciplined, well-behaved for the Government’s investment in Education, Technology, Creativity, and Innovation not to become a waste”.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Primary Health Care Board, Dr. Ibrahim Mustapha advised the matriculants to remain focused and steadfast in their academic pursuit, adding that the only way to appreciate the efforts of their parents is by learning with commitment and dedication.

The Permanent Secretary, who was represented by the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Lagos State Primary Healthcare Board, Mr. Akeem Ajomagberin told the students to put in their best as the journey of their academic career requires dedication and focus.

Speaking in a similar vein, the Acting Provost of the College, Mrs. Uttman-Izobo congratulated the students for being among the successful candidates, urging them not to be carried away by school social activities.

The Provost urged the newly admitted students to expand their knowledge, engage in research, and participate in community services.

In her words: “In your time here, ensure you embrace challenges, diversity, and cultivate a spirit of collaboration and grab the opportunities that come your way.

On his part, the Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Is-haq Oloyede advised the matriculants to abide by all the existing rules and regulations of the College and be good ambassadors of the institution.

Professor Oloyede, who was represented by JAMB’s Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Grace Ojekwe urged matriculants to appreciate the efforts of their respective parents through excellent academic performance and encouraged them to develop themselves.

The event had in attendance, the Deans of all Schools in the College, Heads of Departments, and other members of Staff.
