ANGOLA PLAYERS GET CASH, IPHONE 15 AHEAD OF SUPER EAGLES CLASH

Players of the Angola national team have been rewarded with cash and material gifts ahead of their Friday’s Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal clash with Nigeria.

The Palancas Negras who just defeated Namibia 3-0 in the round of 16 were also promised cash presents if they make it to the final.

According to Angola Press Agency, Angolan bank Banco Angolano de Investimento declared that it will give five million Kwanzas, approximately N5.41 million, to each player and coach of Angola.

Every member of the Angolan delegation in Cote d’Ivoire received an iPhone 15 with free calls, SMS, and internet for a year, courtesy of Aguinaldo Jaime, President of the Board of Directors of UNITEL, a private Angolan mobile phone firm.

Additionally, in the event that Angola advanced to the 34th Nations Cup final, the company Sodiam EP promised a sizeable sum of $250,000 to the national squad and technical team.

On Friday, February 2, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., the Super Eagles of Nigeria will play Angola at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.

Meanwhile, both sides had an undefeated tournament record going into this game.

Nigeria, along the way going into the quarterfinals, had defeated Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, and four-time champions Cameroon in the quarterfinals.
