AFCON: S’EAGLES GK, NWABALI MISSES TRAINING AHEAD OF ANGOLA CLASH
Stanley Nwabali, goalkeeper for the Super Eagles, did not participate during the squad’s training on Monday.
While playing Cameroon in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations second round match, Nwabali needed to be stretchered out due to an injury.
During the match, Georges Nkoudou, a Cameroonian winger, and the Chippa United goalkeeper collided.
Francis Uzoho, a former top goalkeeper, took his spot and helped Nigeria defeat the Indomitable Lions 2-0 while maintaining a perfect record.
Meanwhile, fans will be concerned about Nwabali’s absence because they were pleased with his composed and self-assured performances during the competition.
Speaking to reporters over the weekend, Nwabali said: “I don’t know [if I would be fit for the next game]. I will still come back.”
