
EFCC, IMMIGRATION PARLEY ON FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION IN MAKURDI
In order to combat financial and economic crimes as well as other forms of corruption, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arranged for new partnerships.
This agreement was reached on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 in Makurdi during a courtesy visit between the Acting Comptroller of Immigration Service, Okezie Steve Ibeabuchi, and the Acting Zonal Director, Makurdi Command of the EFCC, Anselem Ozioko.
At the meeting, the two agencies agreed to continue to fight all forms of local and foreign involvement in economic and financial sabotage within the Command.
Ozioko recalled some of the interventions in the tracking and arrests of fleeing economic and financial crime criminals.” We need more synergy in this fight”, he said.
In his remarks, Ibeabuchi promised to continue to work with the EFCC especially in effecting the arrest of watch-listed and wanted persons in his Command.
“We will give you detailed information about people’s travel and general movement if the need arises. He also reiterated the need to sustain the existing cordial relationship between the two Agencies through regular interfaces.
