UPDATE: PRES. TINUBU SWEARS IN EIGHT PERMANENT SECRETARIES
Eight Federal Permanent Secretaries have been sworn in by President Bola Tinubu.
Prior to the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House in Abuja, they were sworn in.
On June 28, 2024, Tinubu gave his approval for the permanent secretaries to be appointed. This was done to cover gaps in the highest administrative cadre of the federation’s civil service that were already occurring or would soon arise in a few states and geopolitical zones.
The office of the head of the federation’s civil service was said to have conducted a thorough selection procedure before appointing the new federal permanent secretaries.
Permanent secretary-designates took their oaths of office in two groups of four during the ceremony, which was presided over by Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity.
Emanso Okop (Akwa-Ibom), Obi Vitalis (Anambra), Mahmood Fatima (Bauchi), and Danjuma Sanusi (Jigawa) are the new permanent secretaries.
The others are Isokpunwu Osaruwanmwen (South-South), Akujobi Ijeoma (South-East), Keshinro Ismaila (Zamfara), and Olusanya Olubunmi (Ondo).
