AL ITTIHAD STEPS UP NEGOTIATION FOR MAN CITY’S EDERSON
Saudi Arabia club Al Ittihad will negotiate with Manchester City again for Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson.
This is according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano who posted an update on the futures of Ederson and Kevin De Bruyne.
The pair have been heavily linked with moves to Saudi Arabia this summer. Reports over the weekend claimed Al-Ittihad saw a bid rejected for Ederson, just days after Al-Nassr also had an offer knocked back for the Brazilian.
City reportedly value the goalkeeper at around £50m, and he is part of the group currently in the USA ahead of four summer friendlies.
De Bruyne has been given extended time off after his exploits at Euro 2024, so won’t meet up with the group in America.
“Al Ittihad will negotiate with Manchester City again for Ederson this week, asking price around €50m while Brazilian GK already accepted the move,” he wrote on X.
“Kevin de Bruyne is currently not even part of the talks, story about personal terms agreed with Ittihad is not true.”
De Bruyne openly courted offers from the Saudi Pro League earlier this summer and admitted he and his family are considering their future.
“At my age you have to be open to everything. You’re talking about incredible amounts of money in what may be the end of my career. Sometimes you have to think about that,” he said during an interview in June.
