LASEPA SHUTS DOWN TWO IKORODU ESTABLISHMENTS OVER EVIRONMENTAL CONTAMINATION
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has closed down two establishments in Ikorodu, Lagos, for breaking environmental and noise pollution rules.
Landcraft Industries Nigeria, based in Odogunyan, was closed owing to serious environmental pollution.
The agency also sealed the Word of Light Christ Ministry (Camp of Light) in Oriokuta due to excessive noise pollution.
The enforcement operation, coordinated by Babatunde Gbenga, Deputy Director of the Enforcement Department, demonstrates the agency’s dedication to upholding the State Environmental Laws of 2017.
Babatunde Ajayi, general manager of LASEPA, indicated that the agency’s measures came after several warnings to both establishments, which were ignored.
“This seal-off demonstrates LASEPA’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the environment and public health,” Ajayi stated.
He emphasised the agency’s readiness to take stringent measures against any establishment failing to comply with environmental regulations.
TROOPS APPREHEND BOKO HARAM COMMANDERS, LOGISTIC SUPPLIERS, RESCUE HOSTAGES
Ajayi urged all industries and establishments in Lagos State to prioritize environmental sustainability and adhere strictly to regulations to avoid similar actions.
