PRES. TINUBU MOURNS EX-CAF PRESIDENT HAYATOU
The family of former Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Issa Hayatou, who departed on Thursday at the age of 77, has received condolences from President Bola Tinubu.
In addition, Hayatou served as the Federation Internationale de Football Association’s (FIFA) temporary acting president. FIFA is the world’s governing body for football.
President Tinubu expressed his condolences to the Cameroonian Football Federation, the Cameroonian people, and the African football community in a statement released on Friday by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Advisor to the President (Media & Publicity).
He highlights the iconic football administrator’s contributions to the growth of the sport in Africa and abroad, calling his passing a great loss.
Tinubu prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed and strength to his family at this difficult time.
