BANDIT LEADERS ABU RADDE, UMAR BLACK SURRENDER WEAPONS, OTHER ITEMS TO NIGERIAN ARMY
Notorious bandit leaders, Abu Radde and Umar Black, have surrendered their weapons and captives to the Nigerian Army following intense military operations in Katsina State.
A statement posted on the Nigerian Army’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday confirmed that the bandits handed everything over on January 19 in Batsari, Katsina State.
The post reads; “Following intense military operations by the combined forces of Op FASAN YANMA, bandit leaders Abu Radde and Umar Black, operating in Batsari and Safana LGAs in Katsina State have surrendered their arms and captives.
“This move marks a significant step towards ending banditry and criminality in the region.”
Accordingly to the post, the ceremony was attended by all relevant stakeholders, including military representatives, to ensure transparency throughout the process.
“The bandits handed over four AK47 rifles and 15 captives, comprising three males, eight females, and four children.”
The post also stressed that the surrender was not the result of negotiations or a peace meeting, but an important move towards the full disarmament of the bandits and the release of all their abducted victims.
