
LATE GEN ADEYINKA ADEBAYO’S WIFE, CHIEF MRS MODUPE ADEBAYO IS DEAD
The family of the late Major General Adeyinka Adebayo of Iyin-Ekiti has announced the passing of their beloved matriarch, Chief (Mrs.) Modupe Adebayo.
Aged 85, she passed away on March 8, 2025, exactly eight years after the demise of her husband, Major General Robert Adeyinka Adebayo, former Military Governor of the defunct Western Region.
Her passing followed a brief illness.
Chief (Mrs.) Modupe Adebayo was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and service to her family and community.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Details of her burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
A statement confirming the news, signed by Otunba Niyi Adebayo (CON), 1st Civilian Governor of Ekiti State and former Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, read; “It is with great sadness that the family of Late Major General Adeyinka Adebayo of lyin-Ekiti announce the passing of our Mother, Chief (Mrs.) Modupe Adebayo.
“She was the wife of the former Military Governor of the defunct Western Region, Late Major General Robert Adeyinka Adebayo.
“Aged 85, Chief Mrs Modupe Adebayo departed the world this afternoon the 8th of March, 2025, which day marked the 8th anniversary of the demise of her husband, the late General Adeyinka Adebayo, after a brief illness.
“She is survived by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Burial arrangements will be announced later,” it added.
